Did you know that you take around 23,000 breaths a day?
We breathe continuously from the moment of our arrival on this planet and we don’t stop until we leave it. Breath literally sustains life – without it we wouldn’t live much beyond three to four minutes.
Most of the time you will breathe without awareness, never checking in with yourself to gauge the quality of your breathing pattern. The result? You may be unwittingly creating dysfunctional patterns that contribute to low energy levels, increased anxiety, asthma, headaches, insomnia and more.

Conscious breathwork, the art of breathing, can literally change your life
Most people are unaware that their quality of life is determined by the quality of their breath. When your breath is rapid and shallow, only the upper parts of your lungs are filled. This stimulates the flight, fight and fear response that is required for survival when you’re ‘facing the bear’. Breathing slowly and in the lower lobes of the lungs moves you out of ‘survival’ mode (after ‘the bear’ has gone), returning your body to a state of calm and relaxation, allowing it to heal and revitalise.
Breathwork reconnects you with the breath as a vital force, moving energy into and through your body, helping to rejuvenate you. It’s beneficial on many levels, including:
- aiding physical relaxation and calming the mind to lower stress and anxiety
- correcting dysfunctional breathing patterns to eliminate insomnia, sleep apnea and snoring

Our bodies are designed to self-heal through the life energy that constantly flows through our system. Are you experiencing that energy? With the simple tools and techniques of conscious breathwork you can clear the blocks and enable the energy to flow naturally, returning the body to a healing state. Learning new patterns of breathing and working with your body’s energy centres, or chakras, allows higher levels of energy to flow, clearing emotional blocks, self-doubts and limiting beliefs. Hello and welcome. I’m Patricia Liebetrau, Founder of Moya Breath. Moya is a Zulu word meaning air, breath, spirit, and it connects me to my roots in Africa and my beloved home country, South Africa.
I’ve always been interested in natural health, healing, energy chakras, bioenergetics and the ancient Indian Ayurvedic approach to life. All my adult life, I’ve done yoga and meditation, read and researched widely, following the work of pioneers in the field of quantum healing: Dr Bruce Lipton, Dr Sue Morter, Gregg Braden, Dr Joe Dispenza (to name a few)… I’ve continuously and consciously looked for the path to living life as my highest self.
A personal transformation journey
Following many years in a successful career in higher education and training in South Africa, Africa and the UK, where I’m now based, I could no longer ignore the growing inner discontent and the feeling that there ‘had to be something more’ for my life. I trained as a health coach, became a student of Claire Zammit’s Feminine Power Coaching, and qualified as an Energy Codes® Facilitator with Dr Sue Morter. What initially started as a quest for asthma relief led me to Patrick McKeown’s training on the Buteyko Method and started me on a journey of breathwork. My own personal transformation journey has now become my fire to share and support individuals on their own path.
My mission is to empower you to activate your highest potential using breathwork and energy tools, techniques and practices to fix dysfunctional breathing, centre the breath in the body and emerge as the creator of your life. The Energy Codes® provides a complete blueprint to shift into health, healing and awakening your Spirit. Health coaching provides practical health and lifestyle support while transformational coaching empowers your personal journey to ‘becoming a butterfly’.
